Don’t just loofah FUPA; get rid of it

Don’t just loofah FUPA; get rid of it

The term gets giggles, but FUPA (fat upper pubic area) is a real concern, especially for women who have given birth. The condition can also be caused by other factors such as weight gain (or loss), poor diet and stress. Genetics can also play a role.

There are a number of ways to reduce the size and appearance of fat in the lower abdomen or pubic area. Cosmopolitan has some good nonsurgical suggestions.

But increasingly, women are turning to plastic surgery, making lower-abdominal liposuction part of a “Mommy Makeover” procedure that can reduce the visual effects of pregnancy and childbirth.

In addition to liposuction to remove excess abdominal fat, a Mommy Makeover can include breast enhancement to reverse sagging, create symmetry and restore breast volume. It can also involve a tummy tuck to tighten muscles and remove stretch marks. You might not need all of three procedures. Talk to your surgeon about what would be best.
